“Serving as division engineer of the 67th Guards Rifle Division, comrade Savrasov directly oversaw the Division’s organic engineer units and the attached ones. Through his vigor, professional expertise, and efficient and able supervision of the engineer units under difficult frontline conditions, he enabled the Division to push forward, in terms of engineering support, in a structured manner. Clearing enemy minefields, demining enemy defensive works and regular structures, building roads and column routes, repairing bridges and crossing sites, building command posts and covered positions for the troops – all this was done by comrade Savrasov in large numbers. Moreover, through well-organized engineer reconnaissance, comrade Savrasov promptly determined the layout of all types of enemy defenses, which to a large extent contributed to their destruction, and by capturing and studying enemy engineer obstacles he neutralized them and made coping with them easier.
