Soviet Medal for the Victory over Japan
Variation 2b with an U-shaped eyelet as part of the medal and a straight diagonal line in the ‘4’ on its reverse
This medal is literally a textbook example for it is portrayed in ‘Soviet Orders and Medals’ by Andrew Reznik (page 204-205)
Made out of gold plated brass. Measures 32.28 mm in width, 37.19 mm in height (including its eyelet) and weighs 16.9 gram.
The medal for the Victory over Japan is in great condition with its details perfectly visible and most gold plating is still present
Awarded to Soviet service personnel of the 1st and 2nd Far East Trans-Baikal Fronts, Pacific Fleet and Amur River Flotilla who were active between 8 August and 23 August 1945.
