Soviet medal for the Capture of Königsberg variation 3
Variation 3 with a round eyelet struck as part of the medal
This medal is literally a textbook example for it is portrayed in ‘Soviet Orders and Medals’ by Andrew Reznik (page 210)
Made out of gilded brass. Measurements; 32.12 mm in width, 37.18 mm in height including its eyelet and 16.1 gram in weight.
This medal is in excellent condition with crisp details and most plating still present. The suspension is time period to the medal.
Beautiful example of a less seen variation!
Awarded to Soviet service personnel who took part in the capture of Königsberg between 23 January and 10 April 1945.
