Medal for Combat Merit #585354
Made of solid silver and lacquer. Measures 32.3 mm in diameter and 2.2 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.1 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 17.2 grams without its suspension.
In a nice, about average condition with medium overall wear and a fair amount of details present. There are several small dings and scratches but much of the original red lacquer is still present . Its connection ring has been cut and the medal comes with a brass suspension.
Most likely awarded during the last months of 1943 so with good research potential
This military medal awarded for “combat action resulting in a military success”; “courageous defence of the state borders”; or “successful military and political training and preparation”. Also awarded for 10 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
