During the period of offensive battles during the breakthrough of enemy defenses in the area of ​​​​the village of Yermakleya on August 21, 1944, comrade. Sokhatsky clearly
organized the work to lead the combat operations in the companies, as a result of which the battalion destroyed several enemy firing points and up to 50 German
soldiers and officers were killed in the battles.

During the fighting to destroy the encircled enemy grouping in the area of ​​the village of Baraten on August 26, 1944, the enemy, trying to get out of the encirclement with numerically superior infantry forces, supported by self-propelled guns and tanks, counterattacked several times, but all attempts failed. Sokhatskybeing in the battle formations of companies during this period, personally led the battle himself. In this battle, the enemy lost up to 10,000 soldiers and officers. More than 2,000
people were taken prisoner. 2 armored personnel carriers and several vehicles were hit.
