Soviet Medal for the Victory over Japan
Variation 2a with an U-shaped eyelet as part of the medal and a curved diagonal line in the ‘4’ on its reverse
Made out of gold plated brass. Measures 32.12 mm in width, 37.31 mm in height (including its eyelet) and weighs 16.9 grams without its suspension.
The medal for the Victory over Japan is in pristine condition with its details perfectly crisp and virtually no traces of wear. All original gold plating is still present and the medal comes with a post war aluminium suspension.
Awarded to Soviet service personnel of the 1st and 2nd Far East Trans-Baikal Fronts, Pacific Fleet and Amur River Flotilla who were active between 8 August and 23 August 1945.
